YogaYama Magicians

Learn how to turn frustration into connection like magic!

Students build a vocabulary for talking about emotions and develop techniques for better impulse control.

To not disappoint kids who might not feel delighted by the “magic” of diffusing potential melt-downs, we will also learn a legit magic trick in each class.

For children ages 4-6 years old

Make the time you have together quality time
Our lives are way too busy. the days, weeks, and years fly by and before we know it, we’re left questioning whether we’ve really been the parent we aimed to be.

As a divorced mom, the time I get to spend with my children is reduced, so I want to make every moment count. Thankfully for all of us parents (divorced or not), when it comes to creating life-long positive connections, quality matters far more than quantity.

Everything we aim for
We all want to be the best parents we can be. We want to give our children the skills they need to succeed at life (however we might define success). Yet most of us have many priorities to balance, such as paying the bills, maintaining healthy adult relationships, caring for aging parents, and our career trajectory, to name a few. Often the immediate needs of the day–just getting the kids fed, clothed, off to school, then the homework/dinner/bedtime evening adventure leaves us with no extra physical or mental energy to consider how well we are meeting our broader goals. There is no bandwidth left to even wonder:
“Am I instilling good values, building good character?”
“Do my children trust me? Would they come to me for advice, or rely on their friends?”
“We are close now, but will middle school or high school change that?”
“They are so little now, I can’t relate to them. Maybe when they’re older it will be easier to connect….”
“Is it even possible to be a good parent and have my children like me?”

Is this easy?
the skills are straightforward but easy to forget about in the hectic rush of day-to-day life. Many of us never even learned these skills. Learning them is easy. Changing our habits takes effort.

That’s why the YogaYama program is so valuable: We teach the skills, then follow up with weekly email reminders filled with fresh ideas and inspiration.
